Technically how
would our video production occur?
While the cost of
video editing has tumbled, the speed of video production has increased.
You no longer require tens of thousands of pounds of edit suite, just
a personable video editor who knows what they're doing. Once you're happy
the final video could be compressed onto DVD: a very high quality format
which will not deteriorate.
DVD is an international
format and, because they're so lightweight, the cost of postage is minimal.
Practically how
would the video production happen?
The more material
you can gather together for the edit the quicker we can work together.
So you'll need to provide us with:
· a rough idea
of 'in points' and 'out points' on your videos
· any still photographs you want to include
· any music you require preferably on CD ROM
· a voice over script if you're going to narrate the video
· any of the material you want included e.g. titles.
You then pop around
to our office sit alongside the editor and decide what video footage of
your babies / children / teenagers / adults you want to go where. This
can be as creative, as personalised and as long as you like. We'll be
happy to pop in suggestions along the way.
How much will this
cost?
For businesses we
charge £70.00 per hour to edit and £10.00 per minute of video
to compress. However we'll offer a capped POA on each project for individuals.
But roughly though?
If your video production
is ten minutes long and you have all your material with you, it should
take about a 9 hour day. But it all depends on the number of edit points,
e.g. if you want a narrated montage or just several clips put together.
Again, the project will be capped and we're completely transparent with
our costs.
There is a 10%
discount for National Childbirth Trust (NCT)
http://www.nctpregnancyandbabycare.com supporters because
The National Childbirth Trust (NCT) is a great organisation and we've
found to be very helpful during our time with them.
(N.B. The only additional
fee may be the transfer your existing footage to Mini DV format, but I
strongly recommend you do that as a practical precaution in any case.)
